Our unique approach to rescue
Unlike other sanctuaries, we rescue all species, providing lifelong care and rehabilitation. Most of our animals stay with us, especially those with special needs. They become educators and ambassadors, engaging with humans on their terms, demonstrating resilience and the profound impact of compassion.
From horses rescued from the slaughter pipeline to laboratory animals, shelter dogs and cats on euthanasia lists, and those found abandoned, every animal at Spirit of Animals has a story. We believe every one of them deserves to live out their days safe, happy, and on their own terms in our peaceful mountain setting.

Located in the serene Lockwood Valley, Ventura County, California, our sanctuary offers a peaceful mountain setting where animals can thrive with dignity and safety.
